Through which professional organizations is Hearing First a CEU provider?
We currently offer CEUs through the Alexander Graham Bell Academy for Listening and Spoken Language® (AG Bell) and the American Academy of Audiology (AAA). This means that Hearing First tracks your assignments and attendance and creates a roster that is forwarded to each organization after a course.
Hearing First does not currently offer formal CEUs through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). We’re working on it! In the meantime, you can submit Hearing First Certificates of Completion when reporting your continuing education activities to ASHA. Hearing First cannot guarantee credits, but this is the most appropriate process at this time. Watch for our announcement when ASHA CEUs become available!
You may be able to use Hearing First Certificates of Completion to claim CEUs from your employer or school, depending on their criteria.
Can I use my Hearing First Certificate of Completion to apply to other professional organizations on my own?
Yes. We will email a link to your Hearing First Certificate of Completion for each course you complete. The certificate will include all appropriate organization codes. You can use this certificate for all CEU requirements for any professional organization deemed appropriate to your credentials. The Hearing First Certificate of Completion replaces the need to submit a separate Alexander Graham Bell Academy for Listening and Spoken Language® form.
Can I still take a Hearing First learning experience if I don’t need CEUs?
We encourage everyone to participate in all our learning experiences.
How much does it cost to earn CEUs through Hearing First learning experiences?
There is no charge for Hearing First learning experiences.
What are the requirements for earning CEUs through Hearing First courses?
We take the provision of CEUs responsibly. You earn CEUs by completing all pre-learning assignments and fully participating in all live sessions. Hearing First offers no partial credit. Based on our agreements with the CEU professional organizations, we cannot make exceptions.
CEU requirements are different for each course. Look for general CEU requirements on the overview page of each course before registering. From the Learning Experience Catalog, click on the ‘Learn More’ button. Once registered, you can also find these requirements on the course homepage, and specific requirement details on the course’s session and lesson pages.
You can expect to:
How long do I get to complete CEU requirements for a course?
All CEU-required assignments should be completed by the end of the final live session to receive credit.
What if I didn’t complete all course requirements?
If you were unable to complete a course, you still have access to all course content and recordings. We hope you’ll continue using the content for your LSL practice! Though you won’t receive CEUs or a Certificate of Completion, you’ll receive a feedback survey. This survey is optional but will help us improve our next courses based on your valuable feedback.
When can I expect the course feedback survey after I’ve completed all requirements for the course?
We process course requirements for all learners the day after the last live session. If you’ve completed all course requirements, you’ll receive an email titled, “Time is Running Out to Finish Course Requirements,” with a link to the feedback survey. You’ll have two weeks to complete the survey, then we’ll email your Hearing First Certificate of Completion with the course codes. Hearing First sends a roster to the organizations after each course.
What if I can’t find the email with the survey link?
Check your spam or junk mail folders. You can also access the survey from the top of the course homepage. Be sure to complete the survey within two weeks after the last live session.
When will I receive my CEU certificate after completing a course?
We’ll email you a link to your Hearing First Certificate of Completion, which includes information codes for each CEU professional organization, within a few hours of completing the course’s feedback survey. You can also find a link to the certificate at the top of the course homepage.
Where can I re-download my Hearing First Certificate of Completion with CEU codes?
For any course you’ve completed, you can download a Certificate of Completion from the course homepage.
Where can I find my CEU code on my certificate?
The code is located in the lower-right corner of the certificate.
How do I get a signed C-3 form for my participation in a Hearing First LSL Video Observation course?
After registering for a LSL Video Observation course, you’ll find instructions on the course homepage. When pre-learning opens, download your blank C-3 form, review the video and supporting content, and participate in pre-learning discussions. Upload your completed C-3 form prior to the live session (these forms are time-stamped). Then, participate in the full live session and complete the feedback survey. We’ll email your signed C-3 form when you complete these steps.
