The Play-By-Play LSL strategy helps your baby hear the words they need to learn to listen and talk!

As discussed in Lesson 4, research shows that children who hear at least 40 million words in the first 3 ½ years of life develop early conversational skills, learn to read on time, do better in school, and have more communication opportunities in the future.¹

As you continue helping your baby reach their 40-million-word goal, you can embrace another LSL strategy called Play-By-Play to share a wealth of words with your little one!

Just like a sports announcer describes each play of the game, you can use the Play-By-Play strategy to describe everything that’s happening around your baby.

Keep the conversation going with your little one as they grow and learn by using lots of different words to talk about what they're experiencing.
