We at Hearing First believe that children who are deaf or hard of hearing have the potential to be whatever they want to be. We're delighted to share the stories and accomplishments of our community members thriving with Listening and Spoken Language with LSL Life.

When parents first hear their child’s hearing loss diagnosis many often worry, “What will my child’s future look like?” There are families who don’t yet know how endless the possibilities are for their child who is deaf or hard of hearing.

Parents choose Listening and Spoken Language (LSL) for their children with the hope that they develop listening and spoken language skills just like their hearing peers. We wanted to capture the stories of real people proving that hearing loss is not a barrier and reaching everyday milestones like learning to read, playing sports, and doing well in school is possible for children who are deaf or hard of hearing. Now, with the launch of LSL Life, families on the LSL journey have the chance to explore the stories of other families like theirs, in one place, for the first time.

LSL Life is one more way that families and professionals around the world can draw on each other’s experiences and discover the unlimited potential of the LSL life. It’s our hope that sharing positive LSL outcomes will help encourage and inform people from all walks of life about the ways LSL children can grow up to reach their full potential and achieve their dreams.
