Even a little bit of daily progress adds up. As LSL professionals, that’s the motto that we’re holding firm to as we kick off the new year with new goals, milestones and opportunities to enhance our LSL practice. Learn how we’re using technology to grow and gain knowledge in just 10 minutes each day. We invite you to grow and learn with other professionals using the collaborative tools already at your disposal, including the Hearing First Professional Learning Community. Your challenge is to engage with available technology for just 10 minutes a day for thirty days to help enhance your LSL practice and grow your network.

It’s been said that a goal without a plan is just a wish. This year, we’re taking away some of the time consuming barriers of goal setting by handing you a plan for professional growth that’s easy and fun to implement. For 30 days, we’re asking our fellow LSL professionals to take the 10 Minute Challenge.

What is the 10-Minute Challenge?
We’re glad you asked! The 10 Minute Challenge is an opportunity to connect with other LSL professionals while you seek, sense, and share information that can help you provide additional resources and strategies for families of children who are deaf or hard of hearing. By contributing 10 minutes a day for 30 days, you’ll grow in your LSL practice, gain valuable knowledge and interact with your colleagues in an open, transparent environment.

How Do I Take the Challenge?

  • Log-in to the Professional Learning Community. If you aren’t a member yet, click here to join.
  • Set a timer and dive into the online community to connect with industry-leading practitioners outside of your professional home to discover new solutions, improve outcomes for children and their families and advance the LSL practice. Hearing First will be sending challenge tips through daily community announcements to give you more ideas about how to partake in the 10 Minute Challenge.
  • Read, post, comment or like. Whatever interactions you choose, there are plenty of ways to learn out loud, ask questions, receive support, solve challenges and grow together. Remember, there’s no reason to go it alone in the digital age! Want to know more about ways to engage in online communities? Check out our blog post!

With the new year comes new opportunities to improve our skillsets, and technology provides us with endless ways to learn information and interact with other knowledgeable professionals in online community. Are you up for the 10 Minute Challenge? Join the conversation on social media and let us know you’ve taken on the #10MinuteLSLChallenge and download our Goal Planning Worksheet to help keep you on track.
